HOPEDALE – Local law enforcement took part in an active shooter response drill at Harrison East and Harrison North Elementary Schools this past week in an effort to learn how to respond to actual situations.
Sgt. Eric Wilson of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, who acts as a school resource officer at Harrison East and Harrison North Elementary schools, led the exercise and briefed participating authorities during sessions on Monday and Wednesday prior to performing the drills at the sites in Hopedale and Scio. He said the Sandy Hook incident in December made the latest drill a priority.
