Childhood memories of seeing Roger Cole arrive at that filling station which his father and stepmother, Margaret (my aunt) operated in Antrim. Even more memories of his very exotic, at the time, young wife Suzuko, arriving in Ohio as a bride from Japan.
What was exotic, in the 1950's in tiny Antrim is not so today, not at my age and where I now live and have done so for many years. To see Asian faces here is just another day downtown or in the International District.
Roger was that half brother, older, to the Cole boys--all boys born to Glenn and my late Aunt, who was one of the kinder, gentler souls of that very large brood of Norquest children who lived out on old U.S. 22 near Cadiz.
My condolences; I had forgotten that Roger was still alive-hadn't seen him in decades.
