Celebrate Father’s Day early

NEW PHILADELPHIA – The Haractus Head Start FatherTime program invites all area fathers and father figures to celebrate Father’s Day early by joining them for the free “Day in the Park with Dad” at Tuscora Park from 2-9 p.m. Friday, June 14. You do not need to be a Head Start family to participate.
Activities are planned throughout the day. Listen to storytellers, interact with a magician, learn about butterflies, practice fitness with Dad, make a Lowe’s “Build and Grow” project, see boomerangs fly and enjoy the rides. All for free.
To add to the fun, families can learn what it takes to keep body engines in tip-top shape. COSI (Center of Science and Industry) will present its traveling science program The Incredible Human Machine two times during the day (2:30 and 6 p.m.). This innovative, interactive program will explore the digestive, nervous and circulatory systems; plus, you will learn about nutrients and how exercise keeps a body healthy. The Incredible Human Machine is just one of six traveling science outreach programs from COSI, one of the nation’s leading science centers.
All fathers and father figures are encouraged to participate in this fun-filled free day at Tuscora Park June 14  from 2-9 p.m. Register at the FatherTime tent near the main entrance to the park and have fun.
