CADIZ – Attendance and sales numbers were up as the Harrison County Fair drew to a close.
Fair officials reported that despite bouts of rain and humidity, the event on July 2-6 still drew crowds to partake of food, rides, animals and other entertainment. Exact totals were not given but leaders noted a definite increase.
“God smiled on us because it didn’t rain [heavily] on us as it did everywhere else. Attendance for the week was up from what I can tell,” said Fair Board President Don Jones. “We also finished up for [livestock] sales. The sales were up nearly $30,000. We had a good week and are pretty happy with it.”
