JEWETT – More annexation talks occurred during the Jewett Village Council meeting this past Wednesday, but officials said they need a lot more information before they decide to proceed.

The potential extension of village border would span along the East End from the north side of the railroad tracks to the underpass at Ohio 151 in an effort to service The Junction at Jewett, a $100 million transload facility eyed along nearly 700 acres outside of town. The facility would serve nearby MarkWest and Utica East Ohio processing facilities in Cadiz, Hopedale, Scio, Leesville, Carrollton and beyond with plans to have the site in operation over the next two years.

The annexation would essentially help provide water and sewer utilities to the site, but village leaders said it needed more research.

More details of the meeting can be found in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.
