Hundreds of people had a chance to view and operate dozers, draglines and other massive machines during the 10th Annual Old Construction and Mining Equipment Show on Sept. 7-8 outside New Athens. Officials said this year’s event had the highest attendance and amount of displays to date.
One of the exhibitors was Kerry George of Adena pictured, who provided photos, mementos and copies of his fictional novel, “Black Damp Century.”
Also during the 51st Annual Stumptown Steam Threshers Reunion and Show last weekend, more than 4,000 people attended, which featured engines both large and small, plus food, entertainment and a flea market. Josh Paoli and Jake Gallatin are one of the pictures featured as they ride their steam engine through the grounds.
