Pilcher inducted to printer’s Hall of Fame

Pilcher 9-21

FREEPORT – David Pilcher Sr. has spent nearly a half-century immersed in the printing industry. Now he holds a special distinction amongst his peers.

Pilcher, owner and president of the Freeport Press, was one of four people from across the country inducted into the 2013 Printing Impressions Printing Industry Hall of Fame. The event took place on Sept. 9 in his hometown of Chicago and Pilcher follows the footsteps of his mentor, late printing magnate Frank Beddor Jr., who himself was inducted in 1987.

He is pictured here with a statue of another memorable printer, Benjamin Franklin.
