Mary Ellen Haney of Cadiz files an absentee ballot for the May 6 primary election. Harrison County election board officials said only 90 absentee ballots had been returned thus far and overall voter turnout was not expected to be high at the polls on Tuesday.
Those who opt not to vote on Election Day can still go to the election board office at the Harrison County Government Center until Saturday at noon. No voting will take place there on Monday, but people who completed paper absentee ballots must either postmark them by Monday at the close of business or hand-deliver them to the board office no later than Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Otherwise, 16 precincts will be open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the public to cast their decisions.
