CADIZ – This marker is located along St. Rt. 9 near New Athens, and is the site of the McFarland farm. The McFarland family played an active role in Harrison County’s part in the Underground Railroad network, and were the proud parents of four Union soldiers. Harrison County’s part in the Underground Railroad is featured in this weeks print edition of the Harrison New-Herald.
