Tanner Allen Stine

 

Tanner Allen Stine, age 14, Freeport died as a result of injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident at his home Sunday, May 8, 2011. Born May 4, 1997 in Wheeling Medical Park, Wheeling, W.Va., he was a son of Terry Allen Stine and Tracie Lee Allen Stine of Freeport.

He was an eighth grade student at Indian Valley Middle School, Tuscarawas. He was an accomplished motocross racer and had several wins with a victory Saturday at Malvern Motocross Raceway. Tanner loved his family, being outdoors, mowing grass, and Reese Cups.

Preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Allen; his paternal great-grandfather, Glenn Stine; a special cousin, Courtney Allen; and his paternal grandmother’s husband, James Barker.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S. High Street, Freeport with Pastor Dave Koch and Pastor Jon Little with burial following in Greenmont Union Cemetery, Freeport. Visitation Thursday, May 12, 2011 from noon to 9 p.m. with family present from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to Terry and Tracie Stine, PO Box 134, Freeport, Ohio 43973 to help defray Tanner’s final expenses.

    I didn't really know Tanner all that well. From what i hear he is a VERY good kid, && motocross racer. He was good friend of my brother, Zach Cross. I know he was loved && he will be missed very much. I'm soo sorry about what happened. R.I.P Tanner Allen Stine! We are all thinking about you and your family!

    i am very sorry to hear about Tanner,your family and all of tanners friends he raced with our in my thoughts and prayers.i no you waited for the week-ends to come so you could go as a family and watch him race and bring home all of the trophys,that is somehing you will be able to treasure the rest of your life just how he made dad and mom proud of him.

    I was so sorry to hear about Tanner. Although I didn't really know him, as a mother of a dirt bike racer I know the worry that comes with it. It is my worst fear and I am so sorry it happened to such a talented racer and good kid. Hang on to the memories and take care!! God Bless!

    Tanner bud when i go to ride and race now i know you will be watching over me. i hope you ride well up there and if you see megan and my aunt say hello for me. When i hear thunder i know its you warming up and going for the win, motocross season wont be the same this year with out you,,, i miss you alot): rip tanner!
