Local Jewett alumni recognized

JEWETT – The Jewett Alumni Association held their annual banquet and dinner at the Scio American Legion Post 482. The Class of 1961 hosted the event in honor of their 50-year reunion.
They honored two outstanding alumni for their continued dedication and compassion for the community of Jewett and its residents. Terry Thompson, Class of 1954, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for his commitment to the community through his businesses, Valie Lanes and Thompson Builders, and through his volunteer work on the Jewett Museum to ensure its completion.
Greg Tullis, Class of 1969, was given the Humanitarian Award for his continued commitment to residents of all ages in the community. Tullis is known for always lending a hand with community projects, heading up the covered bridge campaigns in Jewett, and also teaches gun safety, hunting skills, and archery to children at the Jewett Sportsmens’ Club.
