HOPEDALE – GlacierResidents of Gables Care Center in Hopedale were delighted by a special brother and sister act known as “Davis Street Duo” from Uhrichsville, Ohio in October.
Celebrating “Harvest Time”, the two sang and played various instruments, including the mandolin, fiddle, acoustic guitar and the harp. Awesome Blue Grass instrumentals, familiar gospel songs, as well as popular country artists songs, like Johnny Cash and Josh Turner were performed.
Sprinkling in a little humor, and much expertise beyond their years, Hannah and Richie Johns wowed the crowd. Their parents, Lisa and Richard Johns have encouraged their musical interest since the children were very young and any money earned goes into a Missions Fund.
Activity Director, Marilyn Thompson stated, “There were feet tapping, hand clapping and smiles from ear to ear in the room, as much joy was experienced by our residents. It was mutually agreed that they should return for an encore performance soon.”
