The Cadiz Business Association is currently planning its 14th Annual Community Recognition Banquet this March. The significance of this event is to commend those who have made a mark through business, organizational and volunteer work.
Through the years, we have recognized some incredible people and know there are so many more who are well deserving of this honor. It is very important that the community, as well as the CBA membership, participate in the selection process. Nominations are being accepted until Feb. 15 and announcements of awardees will soon follow.
Seven awards are given at the banquet: three selected by the CBA, three by individual organizations and one nomination open to the public that is sponsored by the Harrison News-Herald. The CBA is asking its members to complete forms for Business of the Year, Organization of the Year and Beautification Award, the latter of which was taken over from the Cadiz Garden Gate Club. The Sally Buffalo Park Board provides the Award of Excellence and the Woman’s Civic Club honors a Volunteer of the Year, while Cadiz Lions Club makes a top-secret selection that is not revealed until the evening of the banquet. CBA members may submit their nominations to P.O. Box 58, Cadiz, Ohio, 43907.
As for the Harrison News-Herald, it presents the Citizen’s Choice Award based upon brief essay submissions describing a nominee who has generally been a Cadiz resident. This award depends entirely upon the participation of local citizens and we strongly encourage readers to find and follow the instructions in the announcement in this weeks print edition of the News-Herald and submit the name of their nominee. The deadline has been extended through Feb. 17, so Citizen’s Choice submissions may be made to the Harrison News-Herald, 144 S. Main St., Cadiz, Ohio, 43907.
We hope to see everyone come and honor the recipients at this year’s banquet on March 17. More details on the evening will be released in the coming weeks.
