Community rallies around Yosick family
By AMY GAREIS News-Herald Staff Writer
BOWERSTON – The community is rallying around one local family that has been dealt a devastating double whammy over the past year.
A benefit is being planned for Felix and Gayle Yosick on March 4 at 4-7 p.m. at the Western Grill on Main Street in Bowerston. Gayle was diagnosed in November with a rare and life-threatening form of gallbladder cancer while Felix was injured in January when he was run over by his own tractor at work. Proceeds from the roast beef dinner, silent and live auctions and 50-50 raffle will aid the couple with medical and other expenses.
More auction items are being taken for the benefit, while monetary contributions are payable to Community Voice, a tax-exempt organization for the Yosick family, at 90 Market St. East, Leesville, Ohio, 44639. In addition, a special account has been created at Citizens Bank in Sherrodsville. A Facebook page for the Yosick benefit has also been formed with further details.
