Harrison County leaders met on Wednesday, where Commissioner Barbara Pincola said she took part in a teleconference with U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown and other area leaders concerning the oil and gas industry, and among local concerns were the lack of housing and woes with Cadiz’s aging sewer system.
“Our main goal was to discuss actions as the result of shale, how it affects us and how the senator’s office could help,” she said. “We had about 10 people on board and it gave us an opportunity to have our issues voiced.”
“We realized housing is an issue everybody had because of the growth,” she added, saying she also informed Sen. Brown about the Ohio EPA’s collection ban related to Cadiz’s sewer collection system. “It is not only happening in the Village of Cadiz, but countywide.”
