Sally Buffalo offers a fun-filled weekend opening

CADIZ – Grab those fishing poles and head out to Sally Buffalo Park next Saturday for the annual Fishing Derby for ages 4 and up that will kick off the park’s opening weekend festivities on May 26-27. Registration for the fishing derby will be held at 8:30 a.m. at Shelter #4, with the event beginning at 9-11a.m.

In addition to fishing, visitors may also take part in the Open Cornhole Tournament that will be held next to KC’s Tasty Treats with a 1:30 p.m. start time. The cost to enter is $10 per person with registration to begin at 1 p.m. and tournament play to begin at 2 p.m. which is sponsored by the Park Board.

Sunday’s activities will be held behind Wallace Lodge from 1-5 p.m. Inflatable rides will be set up with a cost of just $3 per child for the entire four hour time period. DJ Jeremy will be spinning tunes all afternoon, and those attending can enjoy chicken dinners for $8 each with proceeds benefitting the Divine Inspiration Relay for Life Team. The team will also be sponsoring an Open Cornhole Tournament that will cost $10 per person with registration at 1 p.m., and a 2 p.m. start time. Divine Inspiration will also be holding a cornhole board raffle and 50/50 raffle throughout the day. A pancake breakfast, provided by the Cadiz FOE will take place Sunday 8-11 a.m. at Wallace Lodge.

  1. Sally Buffallo used to be a nice park to go for enjoyment, but the last time I was there, you couldn’t walk or step anywere,without stepping in Goose doppings
