Freeport business expands again

FREEPORT – TJ’s Gas N Go is experiencing a growth spurt of sorts with its second addition in three years.

The convenience store and Marathon Gas station located at 237 E. Main St. will provide even more items and amenities and owners Tana and Jim Fortney hope to see the nearly 2,000-square-foot addition completed in mid-October. Jim Fortney said Pappy’s Construction was handling the project, which started in July.

“We’re going to expand our cooking area and there will be more cooler space for more frozen food and groceries,” he said.

Other changes include an eight-foot deli case stocked with meats, cheeses, salads and other delights for customers and a 16-foot coffee bar while the current bar will be replaced with seating booths.

TJ’s Gas N Go operates Sunday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturday from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. For more information, call 740-658-3520.

From the relatives who live in Harrison County I hear the news that the economic picture in Cadiz and other smaller villages, within the county, are seeing some positive changes to the economy and the development or expansion of small businesses there.
Congratulations; this is really good news.
