SCIO – A man linked to bank heists around the region has been indicted for an armed robbery this past year in Scio.

Brock Anthony Rennicker, 26, of Dover, was arraigned in Harrison County Common Pleas Court Tuesday on a secret indictment for first-degree felony aggravated robbery with a firearm specification. If convicted, Rennicker could face three to 11 years on the robbery charge with another mandatory three years for the specification.  Harrison County Sheriff’s officials exclusively told this newspaper that Rennicker was accused of the Jan. 12 holdup at the Scio PNC Bank and allegedly stole thousands of dollars from five financial institutions in the region. Det. Lt. Bill Jones said Rennicker, who has resided in Ohio, West Virginia and Georgia, was on his radar within days of the robbery and, for now, is believed to have acted alone. Rennicker was remanded to custody and lodged in the Belmont County Jail on a $250,000 or 10-percent cash bond.
