SCIO – Several open house events are set for early November to explain what is coming with a multimillion-dollar natural gas processing and fractionation complex spanning Harrison and Columbiana counties.

Officials with Utica East Ohio Buckeye/M3 Midstream announced plans to conduct a community open house in both Scio and Hanoverton to share information about the company’s natural gas processing facilities and associated pipelines. Venues are set for United Local High School, located at 8143 State Route 9 in Hanoverton, on Nov. 7 from 5-7:30 p.m. and at the Scio Volunteer Fire Department on West Main Street on Nov. 8, also from 5-7:30 p.m.

Members of UEO Buckeye’s project team will attend and the public is invited to learn more about the engineering and construction of the facilities and the pipeline, operations and environmental protection and safety.

Details of the openhouse are featured in this weeks print edition of the Harrison News-Herald.

I would like to ask Utica East Ohio Buckeye/M3 Midstream if they are willing to repair any house damage done by fracking.

When I moved to Cadiz, I was frequently told that the town has a lot of shaft mines below it. I can see houses settling a bit and possibly shifting on their foundations. So has the company taken into account that this may happen?

Are they even aware of the shaft mines below Cadiz and other areas in the county?
