ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Across Ohio, there are only 12 football teams still practicing for the 2012 football postseason and St. Clairsville, and deservingly so, is one of those squads. The Red Devils will play for the Division IV State Championship against Clarksville Clinton-Massie, this coming Friday afternoon at Canton’s Fawcett Stadium.

The high flying Devils earned the trip to the championship round by virtue of an impressive 40-27 win over defending state champions Creston Norwayne. To date that win over Norwayne represents the school’s biggest victory in history. However, the Red Devils have plans and the ability to add to that season footnote!

On Sunday the Ohio Athletic Association announced that St. Clairsville will be the designated home team for the championship. That designation will place the Red Devil team supporters on the side of the stadium facing the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the contest will go on sale today through Thursday until 9:00 pm in the high school cafétorium and concessions area. All tickets are reserved seating and are $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. The gate will open on Friday at 1:30 p.m.
