Laban C. Blackburn

 


Laban C. Blackburn (the Pride and Joy man), 88, of Hopedale, formerly of Cadiz, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at Gables Care Center in Hopedale. He was born June 29, 1924 in Parlett, a son of the late Laban and Lena Mills Blackburn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Rogers Blackburn in 2007 and a brother, Merle Blackburn.

Services were held at Scott United Methodist Church, 817 E. Market St., Cadiz on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Hasley officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery near Hopedale. Military Graveside Honors were conducted by the American Legion. American Legion Services and Masonic Services were held Monday at the church.
