JEWETT – It’s not often when an average citizen goes above and beyond to deter a possible public danger, but Scio resident Mark Napier made some brave moves to stop a suspected drunk driver recently.
Quick actions prompted Scio resident Mark Napier to stop a suspected intoxicated driver near Jewett on Jan. 4. Napier said the female driver was weaving along Ohio 151 and nearly struck four vehicles before he pulled his truck in front of her car near the R&R Gas Station. Another motorist stopped behind the woman’s car to block it in.
The driver, who was later identified as Brandy Hutchison of West Virginia, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and driving under a suspended license and will be arraigned on Jan. 22 in Harrison County Court.
