dairyCADIZ – Councilman, Paul Coffland’s motion was passed to accept the agreement with the new owner of D&E Dairyland LLC.

New owner, Ericka Young, is now the proprietor of the business that sits just across from the ball fields at Sally Buffalo Park.

“I wasn’t looking for one,” Young said referring to buying a business. She said she had been camping with her husband and partner, Darrin, and felt it would be a good opportunity. The Youngs have no time limit on staying open for the year.

“I haven’t given anybody a date,” she said. Young added that she has received a lot of support from the community and the daily specials are going good.

Mayor, Kenneth Zitko, shared last Wednesday’s announcement that the new Ohio Mine Safety building would be constructed on Industrial Park Road.

“I think that’s a nice feather in the hat for Harrison County and Cadiz,” Zitko said.

Zitko thanked Dale Norris and the County Commissioners, John Jones, Paul Coffland, Mike Sliva and Ken Mason as well as noting that he and Charley Bowman wrote the proposal for the new facility. Zitko went on to thank Senator, Lou Gentile, Amy Thompson and Jack Cera.
